LA GRANGE LIBRARY EVENTS

Library presents Splendors of the Vatican on April 2

The La Grange Public Library will host Splendors of the Vatican on Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m. This adult lecture is part of The Big Read, a cooperative project of the Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Indian Prairie, La Grange Park, Lisle, Thomas Ford, Westmont and Woodridge public libraries.

Dr. Michelle Paluch-Mishur of Art Excursions will discuss a selection of artistic works from the Vatican Museums in this slide lecture. She will focus on objects from the Early Christian, Renaissance and Baroque periods.

This year’s Big Read book is Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. Multiple copies of the book are available for check out at the LaGrange Public Library and surrounding libraries. The Big Read brings the community together with programs on sustainable eating, gardening, art and architecture, and music programs at local libraries.
