LA GRANGE POINTE/INLAND EVENTS

La Grange Pointe -- the new independent senior living apartment complex across fRom the theater in the village's downtown business district -- has opened to the public and already has a couple special events on tap.

To start the season off right, a Flu Shot Clinic operated by the Dominick's pharmacy will take place during an open house at La Grange Pointe, 51 E. Cossitt Ave. (at La Grange Road) from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29.

The cost is free for qualified Medicare Part B recipients and $20 for others. Participants will receive a 10 percent off coupon for their next Dominick's grocery purchase.

The next event, sponsored by the complex's developer, Inland Development, will be held in the DuPage Room of the Inland campus, 2901 Butterfield Road, Oak Brook.

Called "An Ounce of Prevention: Protecting Yourself and Your Assets Through Estate Planning," the free seminar will be presented by attorney Amy Delaney, at 11 a.m.
Saturday, Nov. 8.

Delaney, one of seven Certified Elder Law attorneys in Illinois, will call attention to the importance of updating your estate plan periodically and provide a summary of the key documents you need, along with a present view of Medicaid.

The discussion also will explore the Durable Power of Attorney, Healthcare Power of Attorney, Living Trusts and Estate Taxes.
