Staying Sane in an Insane Economy program on July 27

The La Grange Public Library will present Staying Sane in an Insane Economy on Monday, July 27 at 7 p.m.

To help people better understand the current economic situation and how it affects them personally, the Library has arranged for this special workshop. Brad Lazarus, personal finance instructor at DePaul University, will show people how to get their personal finances in order. Topics include positioning your portfolio, managing debt during the economic downturn and assessing how the 2009 federal stimulus affects you.

Summer Reading Wraps Up with Great Big Faces

The Youth Services Summer Reading program at the La Grange Public Library will end with a special program featuring Great Big Faces on Friday, July 31 from 7 to 8 p.m.

Dynamic artist Paul Merklein will entertain the entire family as he paints “Great Big Faces.” This unique and unforgettable show combines music, audience participation and art in action. Merklein paints famous faces from history and literature, as well as audience members.

Grand prize winners of the Summer Reading Program will be announced that evening. Parents of children who participated in the Youth Services Summer Reading program are encouraged to share their feedback through an online survey at www.lagrangelibrary.org or pick up a paper copy at the Library and complete it by August 17.
